Genvid Technologies
product explainer and technical film
The brief
Genvid’s technology enables Massively Interactive Live Events (MILEs). These are digital events where millions of people can influence the outcome in real time. The possibilities are so vast that it’s hard to narrow down exactly why this technology is so brilliant and how people should use it. We worked closely with Genvid to create two animations.
First, a top line 90 second explainer film with an aspirational narrative bringing to life the massive possibilities unlocked by Genvid’s technology.
Second, a mid-funnel technical video which digs deeper into how the infrastructure works. This film is aimed at a more technical audience (CTOs, programmers).
Film 2 : Technical film
Our solution
An aspirational narrative to focus on possibility
It can be hard to explain groundbreaking technology that builds on existing ideas. When subtle differences create huge new opportunities - how do you explain that without going into great depth about old vs new? In film 1 (top line) we carefully overcame this by finding easy to visualise, aspirational examples of what could be possible. This involved several workshops with Genvid to really get to the heart of how the tech words before brainstorming future use cases which we could convey in a few seconds flat.
For the technical film, it was a case of revealing how the tech worked in order to differentiate it from typical gaming or interactive engines. This was done using simple animated infographics and iconography.
Empowering, scalable, accessible
Ultimately, the appeal of the technology is that it can help brands, broadcasters and events engage their audiences by putting the power in their hands like never before. And this can be done at scale without heavy hardware or computing power at either end. We carefully focused on the these three themes to build out the rest of the story for the strongest possible case for adoption.
Result
Early feedback from event playback is that having seem the films viewers are able to take a much faster leap towards understanding how the tech works and why they need it, something which the Genvid team have been consistently striving for but struggling with since inception.
