Merchant Taylors’ Schools - Bursaries animation
This piece of animated content was created for Merchants Gives, a 36 hour digitally driven event with the goal of rallying the Merchant Taylors’ community behind the school’s bursary campaign.
Our approach
The film splits roughly into two sections. First, setting the scene with an intro to outline what bursaries are and why they’re important.
Second, Merchant Taylors’ wanted to include real case studies to evidence just how powerful a bursary can be.
Without the option to film beneficiaries or record voices due to privacy, stylised animation was the clear choice for this piece. Due to budget constraint we achieved this through the simplest possible means - abstract shapes which move and behave like characters to help us capture the human element of the narrative.
Outcomes
The campaign raised £135,000, which equates to 10 transformational bursaries (85-100% funded)
369 individual donors (against a target of 150). Notably, 77 were parents, which really exceeded expectations. An audience we particularly wanted to engage.
